Asset from single wrangle node?

Hi!

I made a wrangle that groups corner points from a treshold channel. I often have to re-write this node so I wanted to make an asset out of it. When I select that wrangle and do Asset -> New Digital Asset From Selection, nothing happens. When I duplicate that wrangle and select both the original and copy, I can create an asset.

Why do I need more than one node to create an asset?

I think the fastest way is to save that wrangle as a preset, less hassle than making a digital asset

What do you mean by “preset”? Do you mean right-click -> Save -> To Gallery… …if so, how do I access them after?

sorry for the late reply,
in the parameter tab of your selected node there's that little gear you can click on to access some options relative to the specific node parameters.
There you can save and load back parameters presets.
If you do that in a wrangle node it will save the code typed inside the wrangle.
(The code you type in the wrangle is actually the value of a string parameter)

Cheers

Ah! I see.

I've never noticed that before. Thanks for showing me.

This being said, I found a way to create my digital asset of my wrangle by simply adding a NULL just after it. It's more annoying to create digital asset but at least, all of my asset are accessible in one place.

select the wrangle
shift+C to make it a subnet
RMB > Create Digital Asset
Type Properties Basic page > Min/Max Inputs = at least 1
wire subnet input to the wrangle
