My guess, is that you have to modify the houdini.env file, located in the Houdini folder of your home documents to point to the correct paths where you have installed each render engine. Consult those forums/documents for support on how to set this value.
I have successfully enabled Renderman and Redshift on the same machine, but I don't use Arnold.

The one thing i noticed (windows, but might apply to linux as well) is that if you are using packages, Arnold needs to be last in the directory, so call it zarnold.json instead of arnold.json. After I made those adjustments the windows version worked fine.
