no no, the nanoVDB rendering part has no relation to which solver your volume was made with
still, cycles is nice enough, i like it

Karma renders VDBs using nanoVDB from nvidia, cycles does not have that (yet?).

Apparently, NanoVDB has been a part of Blender Cycles since 2021, at least according to Nvidia, so why does it take so long to render volumes in Blender compared to Houdini XPU?

Okay, this is bugging me, the only reference to NanoVDB in the manual is about the real time Pyro stuff, nothing on NanoVDB in the manual for Karma XPU beta, could you share a link to where you read that Karma XPU uses NanoVDB? Thanks!

Thanks, I saw this, but my understanding is that this is coming to H20 Karma XPU, is it not?

Different, but a solution which is gaining popularity is GPU fluid Embergen. https://jangafx.com/software/embergen/ [jangafx.com]
We have Axiom In Houdini , but i can't seen much things done with it

No doubt we are switch to more GPU solution, If some heavy simulation may still be out of reach today GPU RAM, once you put your hand on the interactive speed , hard to come back!
