Is there any way to give an option to have solaris / husk / whatever skip rendered frames? Seems like this is present in all the houdini plugins but sadly missing from solaris, i'm using redshift for this specific project but would love to have the option regardless of engine.

still struggling with this. im using deadline + tops with a USD Render top now. It seems like in tops theres sort of a way to skip frames that isnt the most reliable, but this doesnt matter with deadline because it doesnt carry over at all. any idea what the best way is to get missing frames patched easily here?

I'd expect the workitems to be skipped if the Cache mode is Automatic and expected result file already exists
Shouldn't even be sent to the scheduler at least in theory

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case. I also cant tell-- when I set this off not using deadline, its seemingly random whether it picks up rendering the frames or not? i just can't tell what the reason is, its not sensitive enough or something. or Im doing something wrong. but it seems like this should be pretty straightforward.

Hi is there any progress on this - we are using Solaris and redshift - the option is not available in LOPs at all (not even in Karma...)

thanks,

I would also really like a 'Skip Rendered Frames' option added to husk. Simple idea but very useful.

Hi, anyone has a workaround for this? It is impossible to track this by hand when rendering a lot of shots on deadline, especially when some of the frames crash and need to be picked up by another render node...

+1 If there is a solution, please share, as it is impossible to find that setting in LOPS.

A complete hack, but with some python one could switch to a dummy LOP with no content and a dummy output name when an existing frame is detected.
More code, less clicks.

+1 on having this put into Karma

There's probably a simple script that can be plugged into Husk Pre-Render that could get it done and would work if you're saving a checkpoint for frames that are currently rendering...

For husk there is an option to specify a frame list for the render.

Frame list is not a problem, already have that when submitting ro deadline as well. Specifically need skip existing frames, that is a bit different use scenario and weird that is not implemented as it was option as far as I remember even in 3d studio for dos software renderer decades ago
