I much rather see a FreeBSD port or even Solaris.

I suspect it had reached it's troll quotient. Now it can start all over again.

Speaking as a holder of some Apple shares, I would selfishly endorse this idea!

please port houdini to OSX. I had to install 64-vista on my mac pro to use houdini. If houdini was on mac i wouldn've never payed a penny to microsoft.

I'd be in favor of an OSX port. Mac's have multi-processor capability, and fairly decent video boards now. Plus the OS seems to have settled down. All the jumping from OS9 to OSX and then to intel processors certainly must have given developers fits. But the dust may be settling.

Folks,

There is already a “please port Houdini to OS X” thread [sidefx.com]. Can we limit the comments to that thread?

kthxbye

Well if you can use Houdini on windows vista, the worst OS ever, I don't see why there shouldn't be a port to Mac OS , which is a very decent operating system. I'm a linux user but I worked for years with macs and can't say anything bad about them in terms of performance (they're a bit closed to my liking and a bit expensive though).

My reason would be to use Houdini as a Final Cut Studio 3D companion. And no, I dont wanna dual boot, its not usable in a working environment, hobbyist environment maybe…
