Hi everyone,
I need a little bit help.
I want to scale by velocity an rbd packed object drive by pop and keeping collision between objects.
I want all the cubes collide each other and keep scaling based on velocity.
To be more clear i've joined an exemple file from Next step procedural animation.
Thanks for helping.

Hi everyone,
I'm looking of how to advect a volume by a moving geometry.
On the provided exemple file the moving box is supposed to advect the smoke on the left side creating a kind of curl noise on the overall smoke.
Do someone know how to create this realistic kind of effect?
Thanks for you help.

Thanks guys for you answers!!
I've already tried those techniques but didn't work, i tried again and still don't working.
goldleaf: I want to change the destination folder to another drive with more space as i used to do on widnows.
Maybe there's a difference on centos?! If someone already done that please help?

Hi everyone,
I used to work with on both windows and linux (centos) but know i need to stay and now i want to stay on linux.
I just have one problem on widnows it's easy to setup HOUDINI_TEMP_DIR to another file or drive but on linux it's completely obscur.
Do anyone know how to setup the HOUDINI_TEMP_DIR file path on Linux?
Thanks a lot.

I think this does it, I swapped your point sop to the sphere, from the line.
Thanks it was exactly what i was looking for. Thanks

Hmm, a HIP file might help diagnose the issue, if you have something that you're allowed to post. AttribTransfer of point normals from one to the other should work, though they may not be unit length, and there's a chance I borked it when I multi-threaded it for 12.5.
He is a sample file.
Thanks for helping

Try the Attribute Transfer SOP.
Cheers
It's the first thing i've tried and it doesn't worked. Maybe i'm missing something.

Hi,
I've got a little problem and i hope guys you will help me.
I've created a curve using the primitive snap tool to follow on a surface like a grid with a mountain sop apply on it.
The problem is i want to get the surface normal on my curves points to get on those point the same normal than the primitive the point was snapped on.
Do anyone have an idea?
Thanks

Thanks guys for taking time to give me an help.
yes this was the problem. The things it's exactly the same thing i've done on H11 and there was not this problem. So thank you a lot.
SYmek
Looks like you're trying to drop a spare parameter into multi-parm folder, which you're not supposed to modify. You can add spare parm bofore multi-parm block.

Hi everyone,
I do have a problem on H12.
I want to edit a attribcreate parameter interface with adding spare float and interger value. When adding those parameters when hitting apply or accept a “#” at the back of my paramter Name and while opening again the edit parameter interface it's impossible to edit those new parameters.
And the parameters doesn't appear inside the parameters of the node.
Do anyone have an idea on this problem?!
Thanks

Hi, I have a
2 * xeon 5670
48gb dominator corsair ddr3
motherboard evga classified sr-2
A vertex 3 ssd as hard drive for linux
(a revodrive 3 X2 for windows)
My distrib of linux is centOS 6.2 and everything works fine.
Sometimes all cores are not working but it's really rare and i don't know why.
There's an average (for me) of 15% of time gain for linux against widnows 7

No the 680 4gb are not yet released (as i know) and will be release about a month or less.
That's a good thing to know that 2gb is not enough.

Those review are interesting regarding quadro and ati:

if you are looking at the last review:
on furyball you can see the only quadro card more insteresting than ati is the quadro 6000. This is interesting to know if you are interested in the opencl capabilities of those cards.
