Click “Use Template Point Attributes” on the Attribute tab of the Copy SOP. This will load the foo attribute.

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » H14 Apprentice license on OSX

I hit run and it worked fine for me on 10.10.1.
However, H14 says Houdini Indie in the Finder top menu bar but the Houdini title bar says Houdini Apprentice NC and I can't render in HD. My Indie license expires Feb 17 so I'm not too worried about it but is there some way I can run the Indie at HD resolutions? Am I missing something? My licensing admin / server all look good, its just the HD limit that's the pain.
I'm assuming I'm one of these people?

Thanks. Maybe its this machine. I seem to get a lot of licensing problems with Houdini but a while back support said Macs had some licensing issues so I thought I'd toss up a note.

Upgraded to 10.10.1 and Houdini 13 can't find the license server now. Apple's machine renaming causes Houdini's licensing severe indigestion I'm guessing.

Now working but per support these configurations are still problematic
- 7 EC2 Compute Units
- 14 EC2 Compute Units
- 28 EC2 Compute Units
- 55 EC2 Compute Units
- 108 EC2 Compute Units
The 20 instance worked fine in my first test run.

TRex, Did you try fewer machines? I think I read somewhere that Amazon has a 20 machine instance limit.
Oddly, I think SideFX has something about the 28 machine option being the optimal cost/performance choice, or I could be entirely off base here.

“Our developers agree that this could be a versioning issue. We will update the cloud version this week.
For future reference, if a job fails on the cloud, you can find out why by clicking on the View HQueue Jobs link on the cloud web page. Then keep clicking/diving into the failed Child Jobs until you reach the lowest job. The Command Output text area should show the error that caused the failure. You can also download the output.”

It might be. Houdini's EC2 browser page warning was looking for the Houdini version. Then in Jobs, the last dialogue before it stalls out is that it has initialized 13.359 (the last production build before .509 I think) but I'm running Indie .509 so it may be a versioning problem.
I submitted a support ticket which they been jumping on like a trampoline. Last iteration they asked me for my cloudsubmit.log which (on a Mac) is both hidden from view and buried. If you sudo find, etc in your terminal, you can find it no problem though. I sent mine in today and will let you know what they tell me.

Having the same problem I think. My Hqueue jobs are failing. HQ is initializing .376 and I'm running .509 on Indie.
Just now received a dialogue from HQ (on the AWS HQ browser page) saying it couldn't reach the HQ server?
Anyone able to sort this out?

Pre-flight checks out. AWC says all is good their side but the instance never launches after I submit. Just checking to see if anyone else is having this problem? Or if I need to buy a Mantra token although I think Indie supports one Hqueue job.

Is there some way to turn off the “Kinematic Override Capture” warning at the top of the viewport. I don't use Houdini's animation or capture tools so I'm not sure why its always on but I can't find a way to turn it off.

Thanks. 376 worked fine, as have all versions since 13. I uninstalled H and tried reinstalling 376 but no luck so I emailed support.

After installing .401, Houdini will open only in Apprentice even though Lic Admin says all HD licenses are running. Anyone else having this problem?

I liked implementation of plasticity in the old cloth solver too. In the recent technical discussion there was a nice example of a guardrail deformation by an intern (John I think) but it hasn't been posted.

I'm using the latest drivers, 5.5.28. Viewport permformance is noticably improved w/ H13.
The K4000 has never been that great of a card imho.
