I was wondering what editing you did of your hpages?
I tried:

But got some parts with black text that are not readable.

Is there a way to fix this to make it readable?

I'm very interested! Does this only work for Houdini 20? or does it work for 19.5 as well? (I'm currently stuck on 19.5)
(I dont see any system requirements anywhere. Ie version of houdini, os, any apps, libraries. or pluggins that need to be installed)

In Renderman 25.2 the PxrSurface shader renders fine.
But my PxrLAMA shader always renders default shader aka grey lambert.
I can't seem to figure what is the issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

We usually do UV's in Maya but occasionally I need to do something UV related in Houdini and I forget every time which node to use!
Do I want to UV_Project or Uv_Texture?
Do I want to UV_Unwrap or UV_Flatten or maybe UV_Pelt.
It makes me laugh every single time but this joke is kinda stressy when I'm in a rush.

Just get a chill matt that has airflow available underneath and it will make a huge difference.
It actually enhances performance as the laptop doesn't need to throttle as much.

Like with a lot of cg, the principles are out there for everyone floating in math/cg papers. It's really the application of them and specifically workflow created that people come up with that has value.
Ie Look at 3Delight's easy breasy creation and management of AOV's.
ps. We have been using the new 3Delight in production and it pretty awesome. FYI

There are a bunch of probably interesting ways to mirror groups/attributes.
But it is still not not a substitute for symmetry mode for selection and a lame hassle.

Is there a way to disable the Alembic ROP Output from worrying about overwriting a file in use?
ie. Katana is open and pointing to and ABC file and you want to update it. By default it refuses to overwrite.

For the studios that have pipelines using Katana it was definitely expensive in time, money and training to setup and more so for them to change away from it. Solaris is so new it's kinda “risky” to shift and causing effort that might not be needed.
Though what stands out to me is that most studios need Houdini and having extra licenses to sim or do procedural things is always useful and of added value not even considering it's cheaper. However they don't need Katana, and if the lighter/lookdev isn't using their Katana license it's just sitting there. Additionally given that the most difficult and heaviest stuff to render is often FX related, anything that makes it easier to get the data to the renderer is highly desirable which Houdini can do a lot of things on the fly procedurally lifts a lot of weight/pressure of what needs to be exported.

As a Houdini user seeing the workflow of Solaris backed by the power of Houdini's proceduralism/vex for it's price makes Katana seem irrelevant as the Foundry will need years to build in all the flexiblity that Houdini has.
But I'm curious how lighters in the industry have reacted. Maybe having a tool where they only need to worry about lighting/shading is desirable. Perhaps there are small workflows they like that don't stand out to non dedicated lighters.
I'm curious to hear what people feel/heard?

Dev's from sidefx and foundry have a script based installs which installs correctly for what ever the distro that you are using. They don't use the package manager.
Some companies like Autodesk and others ship installs that use the package manager for the said linux style distribution. So if you are just using Houdni you can use pretty much any linux distro that tickles your fancy.

If it's just Houdini or Foundry products. KDE neon is pretty sweet. Modern Linux distribution with the latest greatest KDE desktop environment on stable Ubuntu base. Super easy to install and deal with hardware.
If you want to run Autodesk software, renderman, resolve etc you need a rpm based distro. Modern one would be openSuse. But the industry standard is crusty not friendly CentOS.
