I do want to make a realistic head. How about textures? Does anyone have any idea of where i can find tutorials about applying human face 's textures on subdivision surfaces and polygonal UV mapping?
How about cloth simulation? How would Houdini help when doing cloth simulation?

I am planning to build a human body in Houdini. Does anyone where I can find tuturial about making a human face in Houdini? Could polygonal model be a good choice? Or Subdivision surfaces?
How should I handle the cloth simulation in Houdini? Should I use the “spring” sop.

whenever I write an expression of an object, it takes me quite a bit of time to type the path of the object correctly.
e.g. /obj/model/grid/TX……………….
I would easily make some typing mistakes. Does anyone know a convinient way that I can get the path of a object or channels very quickly and accuately?

I mainly want to display the front face of the polygon model only in wireframe mode. But I could still see the back side of the polygon model even I turned on the “remove backfaces” in the display option window.

I successfully used “instance” pop to creat instance objects in pop environment. Can any one show me how I can rotate them randomly with some constant speed? I think the “rotate” pop should help but I just did not use it correctly.

I tried to turn off the back culling display but it did not work even I have checked “remove back faces” under Culling in the Display Option window.

I have done some particles with colours in POP. While I tried to make a preview with the fast mantra renderer, all the particles came out in black and while. (but they were in colour in my Houdini viewer)

i am currently learning Houdini 6.0
I was trying to use “color ” pop to control the color of the particles. but I was unable to use “color”pop's cop to control particles color. No mater what color I got in my cop “file” image, the particles emitted were all in red only. I tried to put “life” into “color” pop 's u and v values. But all particles were still in red! Does anyone know why?
the task that I want to learn is to use an image from cop to control the colour of the particles.

I did not use aflred. I just type “prman” as the render command.
i tried to use “prman” command to render those sequence. It worked.
prman aaa.1.rib
prman aaa.2.rib
prman aaa.3.rib
it worked in the shell! (But Houdini would just do the first frame for me!)

I am trying to render a tif sequence in houdini using the renderman renderer. But I could only successfully have the first image rendered out of the whole sequence. All the rib files were generated with no problem.
The main problem is it does not continue to render the second frame after the first frame is rendered.
The error message that I received is“could not write out to the script or pipe failed to complete render: rman1”
Does anyone there know what I should do to solve this problem.

I am learning how to use the “mouse” chop. I could see the channels moves as I move my mouse. but I still could not record the mouse motion into the channel while I plug the “ record” chop after “mouse” chop. whenever I pressed the play button, the mouse channel stops to response to my mouse motion.
Can anyone tell me why? I am using HOudini master 6.0.304.
