luidoxBannerlord is out. priorities…
know one has a clue on this?
see attached, can be faked by massaging noise coords, tricky to control though.

KZLCRDo the work, make sure the right people see it.
how would someone transition being self taught, with no references or experience, into a career?
Also: There's a whole world of difference between your own projects, client projects and working for an employer. Its three different occupations, all make images, but under different conditions, supporting skills, risks & rewards. I suggest some 1st-hand research first before deciding on what path to take… though for some that research becomes their career :/

Yep its nowhere near as fast as it could be on modern hardware. However speed clearly isn't their priority, so sending ‘make it faster’ RFEs may be futile unless you have a lot of clout.
If you foresee Houdini burning you on an upcoming project I'd suggest shop-around, find a faster solution, save yourself a lot of frustration. Beware of false-economy though.

Last time I tried this the problem was an OGL issue. Was via windows-phone continuum though, so not surprised.
Ended up using Teamviewer then Splashtop, via normal computer.

If you want centrally-controlled live dependencies then you'll have to throw time & money at managing/policing it.
Otherwise: don't use assets. Since everything requires per-shot work they'll just get unlocked and edited anyway.
If locked asset usage is preferable, copy it to $HIP/otls as required, case-by-case.
As for shelftools, its something tops should've been designed to handle…

tamteyep tried that; was too slow with 500'000 records with 50 fields each.
so just do your own loop or wrapper function around re_replace() that does will internally run it recursively
Trying to do this because vex split() doesn't work with empties, eg:
split("1;;;;5",";")
[1,5]

Having a problem with vex re_replace:
returns: “1;-;;-;5”,
but want: “1;-;-;-;5”.
Is there a way to do this without putting it in a loop?

pickleddepends what you're doing, as always… recently had a great outcome modeling precision products via SDF. UVs still a pain, but the tools are there to do things like solid-textures and one-shot the work.
any modeler worth their salt would still not consider Houdini for modeling.
Fact.

Kernel driver is mostly OK, however it sometimes crashes (everything) when using Houdini spread over 2 monitors.
Also bringing up the ‘about Houdini’ dialog will crash Houdini18… which might trigger a hilarious contest-of-will with support.

Try limiting light intensity/exposure, clamp the HDRI map and avoid using GGX specular in shaders.
Or use a 3rd party renderer better suited to interiors.

It looks like its emitting and trailing behind the aircraft away from camera.
Also these effects look like geometry with animated shaders… probably with frame-by-frame keyframing of the emitter shapes.
