Alright, got the whitewater to work again however, my fluid sim has reverted to spheres again. Here's an updated file with the Geometry file node locked. Also, is this whitewater more of a fog then rather small geometric particles? Seems to have an odd look to it. Cant find anything on the web regarding working with the whitewater shelf tool and all of it's features.

Here is the file. I reloaded a previous save and tried reapplying the whitewater, and I now receive a “No fluid object selected for whitewater” error. So I can not get the whitewater to work at all now in the scene when I try to apply it to my flipfluidobject in the DOP network.
Also, at some point the FPS in my scene started to drop heavily. I had figured it was due to my older machine and the geometry starting to really add up. However, after deleting nearly everything from the scene to give a simple file, my frames are still drastically low, which it wasn't like at all before the scene started getting more complex. Not sure what is going on but it is this way for me in the file I'm uploading when they used to be butter smooth.
Another issue is the geometry on my main cliff object needs some serious cleaning up after the poly extrusion. Might just have to start another thread on how to go about doing that though… I'm not sure if most are expected to have a lot of previous modelling experience before jumping into Houdini, but mine is quite limited so I'm still learning modelling techniques along with learning Houdini at the same time. Anywho… really appreciate the help A-OC.

OK after adding the white water I lost my fluid mesh and it has been replaced with spheres. Can't figure out now how to get the mesh back. My particle_fluid object node still displays the mesh in my viewport, yet renders spheres… Nothing has changed inside the particle_fluid object.

I just came back to this after being away for a bit, but I'm again having issues with this tutorial when he comes to creating the spray sim DOPNetwork at 44:10 and having the separated particles created become emitters. I don't get the same results with Houdini 15 as things have obviously changed when creating the POP object and POP solver. Where exactly do I go from here to get things working? At a loss…
Again, appreciate any and all help.

Following this tutorial for whitewater, however he uses a VOP SOP @ 30:30 into the tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2u-DXOxouY) [youtube.com] for separating particles that have a change in velocity. What do I need to use as a replacement to do this? Still a beginner here so if someone could break it down a bit I'd really appreciate it. Thanks very much.

That worked! Thanks very much.
Now, it seems I cant load the file I was creating in Apprentice into Indie… I probably should have looked into this sooner before doing all that work, but am I not able to load up all that work with the Indie license now?
Edit: Sorry, I can but it goes into “non-commercial mode.”

As the title says. I emailed customer support but I'd really like to spend the day today working ASAP so hopefully I can get some faster help here. After I installed the Indie license fine on the License Administrator, is there something else I need to do in order to start working with Houdini Indie? Thanks muchly.

Thanks very much for the advice, I'll be sure to do that for future issues and problems I come across. And, thank you immensely for the file! It was very helpful with the polyextrude as that was something I was needing for the model and extruding along the z axis. This solved the issue with the collision mesh but I'm unable to get the same results as you flattening the base of the mesh as you did with your transform_scale_grp node. I just cant get it to do anything for me. After my polyextrude I also have a lot of gaps in the polygons around the sides of the mesh formed from the extrusion. I'm guessing the normals need to be flipped but I'm not sure how to go about doing this. I'll post a file here in a bit…

Sorry to be posting all these questions, but Im having issues with forming a proper collision mesh for my fluid sim. Is there anyway to just use the mesh from the actual object I'm using in the scene? From what I understand I need to have the mesh closed in with some volume in order to create a proper collision mesh. If so, I tried extruding the edge of the cliff mesh shown in the screen below down the z axis but I can't seem to be able to get it to extrude along a single axis.. But can anyone suggest a good method for creating a collision mesh for the “cliff” object I have?

Thanks, I hear ya. Ive been focusing on learning in the specific areas for my particular project, trying to pick up the interface along the way. Clearly I need to stop and take an hour to go through some standard into tutorials to better learn the node process then as it seems I'm missing some essential and basic fundamentals.

I'll try my best do piece together what you've just said and figure out exactly what you're saying. You're last sentence sounds particularly important, I'll try to figure it out.
Just trying to figure this all out as I go…
I'll probably end up just deleting the Dop node and redoing everything. Fun times.

I'm setting up a Flip fluid sim, and everything for the most part is going well. Now all of the sudden my collision data inside AutoDopNetwork has rotated on me! Not sure how I did this or how to rotate it back to what is outside of the AutoDopNetwork node. Any ideas??? Quite frustrating.

Ah, nuts. So then would SideFX be fine with me trying to hire out the rendering of my file? Personally I don't see issues with that, but it seems something of a gray area…
