I could write a HUGE preface but I feel it would be hugely unnecessary.
Maybe the sort of answers I'm looking for are like percentages used per job, given a studio…
All this out out of sheer curiosity! Cheers!

but there are others
If “others” get close to 20 or 30% then sure, I think sesi should make it an option, but not change it all together.

How about using Space instead of Enter?
Not cool: If I want “Attribute Transfer” I type: at *space* tr

Hitting tab again is very useful to me when I mistype and want to start typing again.

I really feel ya, check out my post almost 2 years ago

What I've learned the hard way is:
- Arm yourself with a lot of patience when you study houdini
- Follow along, DO and FINISH all the tutorials you can
- Do as many variations you can think of out of the tuts
- Ask in the forums wording your question the best you can, and be patient, if there's no reply when your thread's gone to the second page, rephrase your question in a new topic. Repeat until you get an answer. Be sure to include the simplest hip possible.
- Remake works you've done in other software
- Post your work so you get challenged to take it further
- Read the docs every so often. Make it a goal to read it all the way through in a couple of months or a year or whatever you have the time to.
- Contact support politely, they do care. And should respond in a day or 2, often within the day.
I'm sure I have more but those are the ones at the top of my head. As per your last problem, it looks like an openGL glitch, are you using an ATI card ?

Well Phantom is the same as -primary . I just called it like that because that's what it was called in previous versions
I didn't mean for you to type Phantom, but rather to select the option from the drop down.

Then Phantom does exactly that. I'm feeling a little dumb now, lol. Maybe post your hip file.

Geometry node -> Render tab -> Render Visibility -> Phantom
Not sure if this is what you want though.

The field data is in the sim files created by the flip simulation, this data is needed by the ww solver, if I recall correctly, I don't have houdini right now.

It looks like the ww solver is not getting the field data from the flip sim. Maybe you deleted it ?

Not a Point SOP, just render the points coming from the sim but tweak the pscale first with a wrangle.

Yes, instead of generating volumes with the Volume Rasterize Particles, render as plain points. Also assign a default mantra surface and work from there.

I think I could easily create the color map, but what is Unreal doing at 10:24 ? So I can reacreate it in houdini and check if it's working ?

The way I do it is very slow when rendering but it gives me the most satisfactory results as of now.
Render as small points, around 1 mm in radius, with a water-like reflection, no refraction, opacity around 0.15, faux caustics. Maybe add a little diffuse.
I'd be very glad to hear a faster approach.
*edit. Actually add a lot of diffuse, now that I'm checking.
