Simple knot creation and stretch
I just want to animate creation of knot and stretch it…
something like that

If some one can help me achieve this effect it would be great .

Thanks , you right .
I`m try to find ways how to generate knots, animated knots.
for future stitching , or just simulation of knots
and
understand better the relations between wires and static\cloth objects.
examples:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2gxCS5ffWk [youtube.com]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zW6UIGTzGw&NR=1 [youtube.com]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6a8991PtpaI [youtube.com]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8_ehaty_bo&feature=related [youtube.com]
so my first questions how to build\animate this knot ( creating_path.hipnc ).
1.there is a way to build line and make it follow the path ?
so the line would move like a snake according to the path?.
2. I look for methods that the wire will able to wrap easily around objects .
Are there any standard nodes available that I could make use of?
3. mahat_hoot.hipnc showing case that my static object not able to affect the wire.
there are mutual forces between wires and static\rbd\cloth objects ?
from my experience here :
wire affect object working fine usually
but does object affect wire ?

1. Some one have an idea how to approach different knots with wires ?
2. I would also happy to know how to take any given line to move only on course that will determent by curve. ( this will solve some problems in case i will not use real wires with dops)
thanks !

I want the wire wrap around the stick .
other case.
I want also instead of the static stick , place cloth stick and the wire will deform the cloth stick while its wrap around it .

isixpack is only for Cubic environment am i wrong ?
Anyway .. not sure what you meant.
but right now i`m using HDR file directly …

You rock!
But what the logic of ordering the entries to the merge if its all mutual …
i can guess from the order … but i want better answer to understand the basic concpet in the dop network …
you have .. or some one in the forum have paper about it ?
again
thanks mate.

Thank you !
but…
the cloth and the wire should mutual collide … take a look at the dop network
(wire and cloth NOT cloth and cloth)
Unless you you know how to define curve as cloth and it will behave as wire …
its not really work for me ..\
