Hi all,

I'm trying to save a geometry as .stl from Houdini to be 3D printed. It works but the problem is that the .stl model gets really tiny, it seems like it interoperates every Houdini-unit as a millimetre in “real world”. I've tried to save the .stl both by right-clicking an output node and with the ROP Output Driver but I get the same size. I've also changed the preferences in Hip File Options to cm but that doesn't seem to affect the .stl at all.

Have someone done any 3D printing from Houdini and knows anything about this? Is there any way to change the “real world units” when saving out geometry?

Houdini treats a unit as 1 meter
just before the output node - append a Transform SOP and uniform scale your geometry by 100

I am so looking forward to printing some of my game assets. I just found out about Houdini and cant wait to create some geometries in Houdini and print them tonight. I feel like a little kid, this is so cool!

Michael.
