as you see in the picture the faces still there in the sides, what I want is an "Inside Extrude" like the smart extrude in 3ds max.

Is there a way to do it in houdini?

If no, is there a plugin or something to do it?

And does SideEffect have any future intentions of making this tool?

A highly recommended plug-in for direct style modelling in Houdini. It has exactly the feature you're looking for - called 'Extrude Pro' in this plug-in.

Modeling in Houdini, like eating soup with a toothpick…

The Modeler addon by Alex Vanzhula is a huge improvement, but still its so much faster to model in another app and import then to try doing everything in Houdini.

It’s just too slow and frustrating.

I disagree, the speed increase you get using Modeler by comparison with vanilla Houdini is incredible, it's only a matter of getting familiar with the tools, in my opinion using Modeler saves you the hassle of splitting the modeling part of production to another program.

I've been doing streams were I focus on mastering Modeler and designing a Robot, for every feature that Modeler might be currently lacking there is probably another time saver there for us.
