I myself "have" to use Alexey Modeler for Hou to make poly modeling a bit easier, I'm pretty sure that guy would prefer the Blender Market, not because Hou sucks, but because it will help him to live from his work.
Have you looked at Polymarvels for tutorials on direct modelling in Houdini?

Since we're talking about UI/UX a bit here... I've got good news and I've got bad news.

The good news is these new floating palettes seem pretty great from a UX perspective. Very curious to try them out myself!

The bad news is they look even worse than the rest of Houdini's UI. :P

I've watched some of his videos. It would be great if he showed the process of modeling the vintage car that he used in the video; then it would be clear how "convenient and logical" it is to model in Houdini.

I remember one guy in Houdini on YouTube recorded several videos about modeling a Lamborghini. Everything was good, but then, when it came to a slightly more detailed part, he stopped and said something like the game is not worth the candle.

Let's at least not bring up the topic of modeling in Houdini in this thread. We know that Houdini is a super program.

Here are my final thoughts on the whole Blender conversation on this thread, I find it hilarious that some of the peoples who openly criticize Houdini in this forum, which is arguably the most cutting edge DCC at the moment, get so pissed off because I pointed out all the Blender limitations and the fact that it is arguably the least cutting edge DCC at the moment, since its tools are more than 15 years old, and the fact that all of this actually happened on the Houdini forum makes it even more hilarious, the Blender community is more akin to a cult than a community of artists IMHO!

I brought it up at work yesterday, and Blender got laughed at by pretty much everyone there, here in Montreal, Blender is seen for what it is, an archaic piece of software not suited for commercial production, have a good day everyone!

People "criticize" Houdini since they want Houdini to be better. People on a Houdini forum usually have no particilar interest in making Blender better, so they don't take time to "criticize" it.

(Interestingly when you did it, it's "pointing out limitations", but when other people did it, it's "criticizng")

Did you tell them Houdini doesn't have a shader network? If you need to bring out some laughters remember this one next time.

Blender is #1 software of interest in the game industry for the whole North America ... (I talk about it with 2 friends, they all agree)

I fear the amount of laughter this guy`s ridiculous and childish comments triggered around the world would make him deaf in an instant... But I don`t wonder anymore, in another thread just a month ago he stated that according to "friends" and the usual ominous "people" a.i. image generators are incapable to get hands right, while midjourney 5.1 fixed that to a large extent: https://www.sidefx.com/forum/topic/91722/?page=2#post-400335 [www.sidefx.com]

And of course he never acknowledged or accepted he was wrong...

Okay, I`ll stop here with the derailing. Can´t wait for H20 to release, my RTX 4090 is waiting for Karma XPU Gold!!!
