I have a subnet which I intend to transform to a .hda asset. Inside the subnet there are wrangle nodes and some of them include a couple of custom .h header files from houdini/vex/include folder. Now my question is how can I attatch/embed these header files in the asset so I don't need to copy files separately?
1- Can an asset embed header files and then copy them to a certain folder when a user is installing them?
2- Or maybe I can somehow embed the header files in the asset and then include them in the wrangle nodes with a relative path?

The fact that the asset should be easily distributable is important for my task as well.

is it possible to drive deformation or Values in a Houdini Engine asset at run time in the final game packaged ?
eg- seem the stairs are a example used alot for explaining Houdini Engine, but can the end user in the finished GAME edit the Stairs ?
currently we doing R&D for a project and checking options

How about a Google Hangout?
On top of it, if you download DesktopApp you can easily switch between multiple Slacks, which are visible on left side bar, and show that there are direct messages awaiting for you.
So you can join @nodeway:

and not get lost, what where happens. Each of those slack may have different purpose, different channels and different private channels, that are available only for people that you want to be there.
So I may release tutorial and have private channel on @nodeway, on which people who have tutorial can easily chat and share without being bothered by people that don't have the tutorial.

CGSociety have the best destruction tutorial for Houdini. I wouldn't even touch anything else.
You have to remember that H14 and H15 changed a lot, so all (like 98%) of the tutorials out there will not cover those changes and you may have problem with following them if you are not experienced with Houdini.

In HDK, it's possible. You can call SOP_Node::nodeSelectionSet() on the display SOP, and on the GU_SelectionSet, call activeSelectionType().

Time to smarten this thing up.
Is there a way to detect what selection mode is currently picked? In Hscript, Python and HDK? So we could switch tool mode? Any examples?
This would shorten the shortcuts list, since yo could have one shortcut for multiple modes and it would call proper tool for each mode. For example, pressing 'C' (Connect) while two polygons selected would call PolyBridgeSOP in polygon mode, AddSOP in point mode while two points selected and maybe SkinSOP in edge mode while two edges selected.

If you need Video chat, then Skype is good. For anything other it just sucks.
All in free version.
What means more project oriented? It's a chat, you talk, everybody see it and can respond. You need private talk? Do a Direct Message.
If you want to try Slack with other people, there is a UnrealSlackers group https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?71341-Unreal-Slackers-The-unofficial-Slack-chat-for-Unreal-Engine-developers [forums.unrealengine.com], so you can join big community and test it.

Once you start adding more and more users Skype starts to suck pretty bad.
You can have multiple channels on slack, just like on forum.
And you don't need any application to access Slack. You can do similar thing with Skype, if you own Outlook, which have built in Skype, but others have to download Skype.

It is asking for ‘_standard_helpers_.h’ which probably is not present on my machine.
That's my personal file with some #define helpers I use sometimes. Not used anywhere in the file, so you can safely remove this line.
BTW. I didn't even used there vectors stored in array, because I don't see them used anywhere in attached image. It seems to just test array size, generate new array of numbers from 0-arraysize(), divides it and use it as U value. And that's it. No vector reading from original array.
