maybe I don't get what You want but what about the shelf tool emit from volume. it adds a “sourceApplyDop” set to volume sample as mode and just sources the smoke from Your volume

i don't have any errors here but the render is strange. but the reason is there are 4 lights in the scene and the only object in the scene , that could be illuminated is the geometry source of one geo light, that is on the exact same place. ad some other objects and hide the geolight source geometry or don;t render the light geometry
hope it helps

put the gamma 2.2 in the viewer (mplay or renderview)
the output of the renderer is linear and it is better feed the renderer with linear data and correct the outputimage after rendering

hey peter,
i thought this is added to bgeo as well, when I got the journals right
but i think it is not used in the current builds
One of the strengths of krakatoa lies in its' file format. It is possible to read part of a file without loading in the entire thing.

Houdini 10.0.589: Support for loading tiled .bgeo files created with future versions of Houdini.

when I load objs from xsi I get a file with groups . each group contains the object. from that point it was quite easy to get my meshes seperated

try the attribute transfereSOP. it transferes any attribute from one mesh onto another.
when Your first mesh is a ppoint You can use it to look up the uv coordinates closest to this point

mh, not sure what's Your problem here, but keyframing the rgb values is a big step in the right direction
If You want to have more control over the change You can use a ramp vop to define a specific transition and drive the input of the ramp with a custom parameter.

hi
can You go into detail with this, cause when I try to write the velocity into a new attribute ($previous_v), and watch them in the detail view, the attribute values are identical. v is calulated and written to the attribute value, but having previous frame's values would be great

You could use a Object MergeSOP to import the geometry in to one object, and then using the MergeSOP You can combine them. That should do the trick.
maybe posting a exampel with the problematic scene would help to track down You problem

1. this vector only exists, because You tell the dopobject to copy all parameters, so they are copied onto the object, but houdini can not use it.
2. usevel is another parameter that only tells houdini where to get the velocity from. click on the edit parameter button on the object and see, that there are 2 independent parameters, integer usevel and vector v.
cheers
