I guess one main reason coulc be they do not share memory, and data exchange via PCIExpress is slow compared to videoram
If it was the only reason, cards with two GPUs on same card should be good solution.I guess there are more reasons …

When Houdini 12 will go on shelf I would like to know excatly,
what hardware it will able to support and what not.
The Only 1 GPU unit support is very important fact before you go and spend money on your irons.
&
It will be nice to hear about the team who worked on the new Houdini Engine in the last ~5 years (~5 years right ?).

Maybe i`m out of date,
but currently most of the software in the market are not
able to use more then 1 GPU unit.
also in the gtx 590 every gpu have only 1.5gm of ram available while the
gtx580 1 gpu works with 3gb (more important for GPU renderer).
In this case I guess i would spend the money on faster SSD or RAID 0…
or
you can wait for the Nvidia Kepler architecture and Intel Ivy Bridge technoligies to arrive :-)

Thank you for the reaply Dennis,
I just reading posts in the in forum from time to time,
I`m not using VOP frequently and it will be nice to learn new things…
I was intrested in “transform node”,
for example i saw some one using ramp oportaion using object space instead of world space, (if i`m not wrong)
I just need more practical examples to get more solid understading.
but, in general,
sidefx assume that everyone who reads the help card have expiriance in
more low level oporations of a 3D and played with that in few other cases.
It will be nice if few simple examples will be published for every oporation in vop.

*you have to create static or rbd objects, use the shelf tool for it.
*give volume to your geometry (face have no volume) before you send them to simlulation.
*try to simplfy your simulation , it will be more efficient.
I placed example , it can be done in many ways.

I decided to share full project file
I will happy to get feedback and changes from anyone!
you are the only feedback i have this days so please do it :-).
There are some fixes and updates i made since this version but i will happy to hear and see how you “would do it”
http://www.sidefx.co.il/2011/04/30/parametric-peppers/ [sidefx.co.il]
two major questions for now.
1.What is convenient way to control the render passes and manage the materials.
2.How to have better control on the leaves\peppers, i did bad job with the alignment .
