Hi
The pose tool is use to Pose the character, put it in a pose, this doesn't refer to the rigging pose, or bind pose, like maya or XSI, which Houdini calls CAPTURE POSE.
This tool is for actually moving the bones to animate, I don't use it much for that, since that's kinda, the old way to do it, I use the handle tool to animate.
hope that explains that.

Great!
uuh
ATI and linux is not a good combination, when ever possible, go for NVIDIA
but nice to know it works for you now, any way you should stay with the latest gcc, cause is what your distro should be using.
thanks

Hi
export to a Houdini Script .cmd
and run it inside houdini, in the file menu, there's a run script option
about the markers, yes, that slows down houdini, so delete the ones you don't need before you export or get the one you need in houdini and pack the rest to a subnet (shift + C) and hide them, in case you need any of them later.
good luck

If I get it right
You could use an edit sop with soft radius and scale it down to pinch
if you want to affect an image just apply it to the geometry first, a grid with lots of points
that might work

HI
you need to generate the initial state inside the dop network with a file dop then load that in the sim tab of the autodopnetwork
also, I got some error in inside the DOP network, just replaced the RDB solver
it works now

I think seeing those videos, the bridge asset and elevator asset from 3dbuzz, even if you don't follow them, is a very nice way to get the feel of how houdini works.
For your player issue, you might need to upgrade your flash player

I'll check out the volume ramp SOP.
although the gas calculate is not bad one my object is moving, looks nice, but having that extra might help for changes
okey, now, what if I want the opposite, I don't want my fluid to ever fade?, like, live for ever. could I just invert the density?, or keep it constant?
thank you again, very nice of you to help me out

Thank you Jason that works
Now the issue I have is, I understand this is diffusing from start to finish in a linear fashion, at least it seems like that, could I have even more control of the fade off? , like putting that more at the end? rather than from the start?
maybe like a ramp
thanks again

Hi
I'm trying to make this fluid smoke, and so far I'm liking it a lot
I can't seem to find how to control the fading of the smoke, something like the life span on particles
There's a sample of my test, if any one has any pointers to make it more real please tell me.
thank you

I love how you stated that non-Autodesk, that gets rid of more than half of 3d apps.
Now to your question, of course you can, you can use CHOPS for that, you can control that with your mouse, keyboard, midi keyboard, audio file, there's tons of options you could do it and they don't require scripting, maybe just clever thinking and setup.
check this example

I'm sorry if I sounded aggressive, I didn't mean to, so I apologise
But is true, if you want more speed out of your machine use linux, that'll make it run like is supposed to.
