I finally worked out this preset to select First AND Last points of a curve (yes you can do groupbyrange but still have to go thru a loop for each prim). This one doesn't need a loop.

Now the question is, I've been adding to the VEXpression.txt file in

C:\Program Files\Side Effects Software\Houdini 18.0.348\houdini

Where should I put it so it doesn't get blown away if I uninstall/install the latest version ?

(unless I lobby realllllly hard for SESI to include the preset for next version !!)

It is enough to put it in the directory with the settings of the Houdini %HOME%/houdini18.0

I'm currently storing my VEXpression file in the same location. But when I add a new expression to the file I simply make sure at that time to make a copy of that file into a seperate Back Up Directory I use for similar purposes like the presets folder.

yeah I'm currently ‘manually’ backing up the file too…but now trying recc by @hou.alex.get, so I'm putting it in:

C:\Users\xxx\Documents\houdini18.0\

(note:the entries double up so you'll have to clear out what's already the default contents and include only YOUR custom presets in there)

Just throwing darts here because I really haven't read through this to understand if this somehow could be ‘twealed’ to work for your purposes. So sorry if this wastes your time:
