Having a brain freeze.
I want to extract from a dopnet the positions and rotations of various(in this case, identical) pieces of geometry after it's cooked, and reference that for instancing in another piece of geo. I can use a DOP Transform SOP to apply those values in a similar manner to, say, a higher res geo, but that seems to only live right there, precooked inside that SOP. I can render it directly and it's fine, but if I just copy simple primitives instead and use the Render/Point Instancing option, the rotational/up values aren't there. I can't figure out how to extract the up values/rotation that is obviously there in the DOP Transform SOP.
I guess the short question is: can I use Point Instancing with results from a DOPnet?
Cheers,
J.C.

Can't tell. We're too obsessed with the three modelling agencies in this building. Why the hell did you guys leave?
Sure the elevator rides were fun but I personally grew tired of conversations that revolved around shoes and hair.
Then constantly being asked “Does this elevator go up?”.
There's at least one school like the old school!

Exactly correct. The initial fascination has given way to eye-rolling. The Beautiful People are actually quite shallow! Who knew?
Still, it's a comforting fact to know there are people(male and female) that spend more on pedicures every week than I do on hummus in a month(and I love hummus).
