Houdini installed fine but as you said the help menu won't load properly. Any pointers to how to get that working? Would be greatly appreciated!

Regarding Alma Linux, be aware that it is no longer bug-for-bug compatible with RHEL, and we do not test on Alma, so your mileage may vary. See: https://almalinux.org/blog/future-of-almalinux/ [almalinux.org] Rocky Linux continues to be however.

Which OS are you using? Are your drivers up to date? If you are using Linux, make sure that you're using the proprietary Nvidia drivers and not the Nouveau drivers.

To confirm, the "same thing" is that you get a crash when you press the update button in the launcher?

Have you tried downloading a newer version of the launcher from the website? The error that you're encountering seems to be related to code-signing. It's possible that a bad build was uploaded.

fyi, I would stay away from OpenMP in Houdini as it doesn't work with our thread composition. I would recommend looking at the family of UTparallelFor methods which use TBB in the back-end. This will make sure that you'll avoid oversubscription.

MLOPS is not made by SideFX - it's made by a third party.
Looking at their GitHub page, it seems like it should work on Metal, so I would reach out to them for assistance: https://github.com/Bismuth-Consultancy-BV/MLOPs [github.com]

I'm not sure if I understand what the issue is here. I just tried with an EXR sequence and it worked fine after I changed the 000.exr to $F3.exr. Are you saying that the images are not updating in the viewport, or are you saying that the controls in the Video pane are disabled?
Just as a reminder, you'll usually get a much faster response if you submit a bug with support.

Hi JD, I think support was confused with the Optix Denoiser.
I'm able to reproduce the crash locally, so I've asked support to take another look.
Sorry about this.

It's already present, however it won't be in the initial gold release - the daily build following it will include it.
Will that work for you?

New in 19.0.1153/19.5.787
- Made certain error messages more descriptive when creating input nodes
- Fixed an issue with "Always Merge Input Geometry" setting
The "Always Merge Input Geometry" setting would only affect inputs connected to asset parameters and not asset inputs. - Added "Pack Before Merge" setting
Added the ability to turn the input geometry into packed primitives before merging them together. This mirrors Unity's "Pack Geometry Before Merging" feature.
