In my opinion many Houdini users love to think of theirselves as super humans, special guys, because they know this tool that is so powerful but hard to master. Knowing that everybody can use it with less effort is not acceptable Instead I think taht tools like Mops would help a lot Houdini community …
Hello guys, I'm trying to use curves as guides, I import them as abc and plug them into “Guide creation” , everything works fine but after that the fur seems “locked” to the guides. I mean, if I use a frizz, blend, clump, they don't have any effect. How can I use both guides and other tools together ? Thank you
If you pack geo in Houdini and export to Maya with Alembic the result is one geo per piece. But if you don't pack geometry it results in one combined geo in Maya. It's much lighter both to export from Houdini and to import in Maya.
Hello, if I have two Mantra rops, with different frame ranges, how can I use the merge rop and make it respect those frame ranges ? For example I have first Mantra rop frames 1-10, second Mantra rop frames 11-20, if I use merge rop it renders both from 1 to 20 Thank you
I noticed that plus and minus keys on numpad are not working anymore to subdivide the mesh in the new versions of Houdini, I have to use the plus on the main keyboard. Anyone experienced the same ? I'm on Windows 10, Houdini 16.5.405
Yes I tried but doing so and multiplying by $F, every copy takes the current frame as a speed value, so the first copies are ok but going on every copy becomes faster; I need the animation of every copy to play at the correct speed.
Hello, I have some points that are created randomly on a grid, now I need to instance an animation for every point, and I need the animation to start only when a point is created. I would use copy stamp with timeshift but how can I tell timeshift to start the animation only when a point is created ? For example in the simple scene I uploaded, the spheres have a little animation when they appear, I want every sphere to start the animation when its template point is activated, but they are all in sync. Anyone can help ? Thank you
Not sure if I understand what you're trying to achieve, I just separated the primitives so they are actually separated objects, but you can see it only using an exploded view sop
Hello, I just created this test animation using Houdini flip fluids. Samples as you can see are low so there is some flickering, but the problem is I see appearing and disappearing some parts of the refraction in random frames; with RedShift support we identified the cause, it seems that in some frames there is an additional internal surface, that sometimes disappears. You can see clearly the problem also in the still frames I attached. Anyone knows what can be done to avoid this problem ?
I attached the scene too, just two frames, 179 and 180, refraction is different from one another. I split the attachment file in two because of the size limit. Thank you
