Really hope you can build user interface for APEX rigs. I couldn't see anything to suggest you could? Would have loved a 2d paint node in Copernicus as well. I already prefer Copernicus to Substance Designer and it would have been awesome to replace painter as well but maybe that's just being greedy(:

The list at the end of the video isn't exhaustive.

Probably someone who knows he's not going to get the keynote until September...

Yeah. Was a bit surprised by that too.
For me, it’s not a surprise at all.

A plethora of things to be excited about, as expected.

I do hope XPU compile speed has improved significantly. As it stands, I find it impossible to use for any serious lookdev work.

Would be nice to know if there is a karma xpu for AMD under development.

Hopefully, H21 will come with some great new tutorials covering the latest features, like the upgraded auto-rigger and more — just so we can hit the ground running. Amazing release, I can’t wait. Thanks!

I had a support ticket this past May....part of it was related to your comment, here's Supports response:

...Although we are committed to other hardware types in the future (e.g., AMD, Apple, Intel, etc.), our current focus is still only on NVIDIA. The reasoning is that we're committing all development resources to fleshing out the feature set of Karma XPU. Sadly, it's not possible to give you an estimate of when that focus might change.

Please keep in mind that despite cross-platform compilers existing (and making bold promises on ease-of-use and performance etc...), it's actually a very large undertaking to port to other hardware and still retain reasonable performance + usability etc...

Thanks for your understanding

Regards,
Jim

Do 21 have better Linux/Wayland support?

h20.5 qt6 is already perfectly stable on Wayland on Fedora and CachyOS that I've tested. On the other hand, on Nobara it is crashing, so something in Nobara is the problem, but others work perfectly fine.

For me on Ubuntu non qt6 version works. Qt6 version opens, but as soon as I move to other app, Houdini will just crash. On X11 everything works fine. And this is why devs hate building and maintaining apps for Linux Every distro, different story

Non qt6 version crashes also... So back to X11.
