I didn't sad that Softimage Shared model should be applied to Houdini, just HDK port to C# added.

.NET can share code between multiple langueges without problems, this philosophy could be applied to Houdinini as well, and it's definetely not a nightmare. But it has to be done at this level to make it work.

With problems, with problems! That's the whole point. Let's not hijack this valuable thread on .Net discussion, ok?

skk.

ps you could start a new thread, Swann, if you think it's worth it (Ior seems to think it was worth to discuss fur…)

Just following MarcH suggestion to talk about something else, nothing more.

Isn't C# mainly for Windows, besides of using Mono for cross platform. Which would end up making it dependent on an external library.

I'd much rather have continued C++ HDK support and new features added to it than waste time adding some sort of new scripting or programming language.

Hi all

Just wanted to share some testsrenders i did a while ago in H10.
Only used shelftools and some simple lights

http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/6199/houdinifurtest09.jpg [img200.imageshack.us]

http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/2045/houdinifurtest12.jpg [img200.imageshack.us]

1keylight and 4 filllights if i remember. Shadowmaps and micropolygon.
And offcourse good linear workflow!(thats how you get nice renders )
Rendertime: 45-50min

For short hair i think Houdini works very good. Long hair is a bit more pain

Beautiful work!

Have you tried to integrate it on a real scene? what would be the difficulties of doing that using your work flow?

Keep the fur coming!
