hi !
I think i came pretty close to what u asked for. In fact, after animating it i actually went to find some free snake model and texture for it But, i have no idea how to access per-primitive atributes in Wire capture by creating attribute that would lower capture radius on all primitives/groups. Is it possible unless using script ? What i see now is horrid amount of parameters, each requiring its own set of attributes depending on group/primitive id. What i would like to have is same set of attributes for all primitives/groups and use per-primitive override as option. This is what prevents having high number of snakes in this scene.

hi !
You can take a look at test i made for some project. It is far from being procedural, but i think you can swap bottle geometry with something else and it should work.I exported animation to maya (because of mental ray) and added some particles after. I never rendered whole animation tough, only playblasts.

p.s.:i think u have to open file in 8.1.625, it crashed on 8.1.685

Technical Discussion » How to move groups with particles ?

Hi !
This is nice, but what if i have pre-fractured object, piped into Conectivity SOP, then Partition SOP, and have it moved (exploded) by particles emitted from those groups centres ? I guess there should be some forloop involved somehow, but i just dont know how ops:

hi !
Lets say I take Box SOP, that consists of six primitives. If i append Primitive SOP (do transformation on), i am only able to attach one primitive to each particle. What I would like to, do is to attach entire group of primitives (whole cube in this case) defined by the Partition SOP, instead of single primitive.
thanks for reply
