could be done smarter…
but maybe you're looking for attribute transfer
to tranfer the “hit” from the particle to the surface,
then the collision surface id is not the particle id.
to do this, you need “attribute transfer” node.

maybe dive into the networks where the error is coming up first time?
Is the scene on another machine, where ../Users/bgood“… directory does not exist?
Do you have ”file out/rops“ which has not written something to disk?
If you like to ”redo" it in different scenes, create an HDA.

if i'm right, houdini has no “infinite” plane, you can scale a grid…
create grid, set scale to xxxxx….
but most infinite planes are unreal ;-)

You have to use groups to separate parts, then assign a material node…
you can create image layers, too
on the material textures tab, you can assign textures.
hope you understand the fusel wusel video
if you like to go deeper: unlock a material and dive in to see what's going on there.

Hmmm, I do not have arnold, maybe there is a locked asset in the material?

Hi all,
is there a way to paint animated attributes if I use scattered/defined points in a POP Network?
I like to paint the start instead of using a group.
What I like to get is a painted event to start the butterflies in the “started” group,
or in other words: switching the stopped attribute.
Any hints are welcome :-)
