If it makes it easier for you - and for our servers we'll be posting on FB/Twit as soon as H16 is live. We're aiming for 12p EST… but no promises! …we want everything smooth so are making sure the CDN is ready to go…

Cheers, Chris

Thanks for the update Chris, you know what would make the wait more pleasurable are some lovely H16 vids, .
Just kidding, I know u guys are probably sweating bullets, killing yourselves to roll out a smooth release. It's gonna be great. I haven't been this stoked for a software release in a long time.

cheers

What's up with that?

Quick! My finger is on the “BUY” button…

Since according to EULA it's a single comp install only I need to decide which one to stick Indie on for license registration:

Laptop: Core i7 6700HQ 2.6GHz, 32GB DDR4, GTX980M | Usage 75%
Desktop: Core i7 2600K 3.4GHz, 32GB DDR3, GTX1070 | Usage 25%

Or, dammit, do I just pony up the chump change for two licenses?
Oh the pressure!

Doesn't sound much like a question to me … if you are going to write out geometry / particles / pigheads, use the one with less usage on the disc, I'd say. That happens to be the faster one alltogether anyway.

Wait.

Provision management just called, I take that back.

BUY TWO.

Marc

Out of here. Being called a dick after having supported Houdini users for years is over my paygrade.
I will work for money, but NOT for "you have to provide people with free products" Indie-artists.
Good bye.

Usage means how much I use the particular system so I use the laptop 3/4 of the time. Desktop is not as convenient since it's located in a downstairs home office away from the family and stuff (actually that sounds convenient ;-) )

the online docs ask for a login and says “Access not allowed. You must be a member of the Alpha/Beta group.” Can you fix it please?

What are the specific steps to take when upgrading to version 16 from version 15.5.717? This is my first time to do an upgrade since I got Houdini, so I really don't want to mess this up if I can keep from it .

I somehow downloaded from the Daily build page out of habit - Now trying the official download having “qt4” in the filename - wasn't qt 5 a major point of the update? Curioser and curioser ;-)
But this one works…

Update works very well so far guys! Thank you!

Will there be any more quick tip videos on the features like rigging and fracturing (destruction) processes that were shown during the live presentation?

Having a hell of a time getting the license up and running. I assume the licensing server is getting slammed!!at least I hope that's the case and i didn't do something silly.

Wasn't working so I had to manually redeem a license entitlement and copy/paste the file to install the license. Now even with license installed and running H16 won't spark up and just continues reverting to the Houdini License Administrator.

Congrats on the release I'll sit back and wait for the dust to settle.

cheers
