Weave Copernicus node

Generates a woven fabric pattern of interlacing fibers.

On this page
Since 22.0

This node creates a woven pattern by interlacing two sets of fibers: horizontal fibers (the weft) running along the rows and vertical fibers (the warp) running along the columns. The fibers pass over and under one another, and the Arrangement controls determine which fibers cross over the top at each tile.

The result resembles textiles, basket weaves, and similar woven surfaces, and is well suited to generating fabric textures and patterns.

Parameters

Pattern

Size

Rows

The number of horizontal fibers (the weft) in the weave.

Columns

The number of vertical fibers (the warp) in the weave.

Weave Multiplier

Multiplies the number of times the fibers interlace within the pattern. Higher values produce more over/under crossings for a tighter weave.

Arrangement

Note

These parameters are disabled when a custom arrangement is connected to the pattern input.

Every Nth Column

When enabled, only every Nth column crosses over, where N is set by the Every Nth Column value to the right.

Every Nth Tile

When enabled, only every Nth tile crosses over, where N is set by the Every Nth Tile value to the right.

Checkerboard

Alternates which fibers cross over in a checkerboard arrangement, producing a classic plain weave.

Insets and Gradients

Row Inset

The gap inset between the rows of fibers. Larger values create more space between the horizontal fibers.

Column Inset

The gap inset between the columns of fibers. Larger values create more space between the vertical fibers.

Edge Gradient

Softens the edges of the fibers with a gradient falloff. Larger values create a softer, more rounded fiber profile.

Overlap Gradient

The amount of shading applied where one fiber passes over another, adding depth at the crossings.

Overlap Gradient Ramp

Remaps the profile of the Overlap Gradient shading across each crossing.

Details

Fiber Scale

Scales the procedural fiber detail. The two values control how fine and how elongated the individual strands appear across and along each fiber.

Fiber Strength

How strongly the fiber detail is applied to the weave.

Inputs

size_ref

A representative layer that determines the size of the output image and controls the metadata.

pattern

An optional Mono layer that supplies a custom over/under arrangement for the weave. When connected, it overrides the Arrangement parameters.

Outputs

weave

The woven pattern.

uv

Per-fiber UV coordinates for the weave.

id

A unique ID for each fiber in the weave.
