Houdini 22.0 Nodes Copernicus nodes

USD Material Copernicus node

Represents a USD material referenced from disk.

Since 22.0

This node works in conjunction with the Texture Material Library LOP. This node represents a USD material that’s referenced from disk. Use this node for USD representation and to provide a target for the Texture Material Library LOP. See Using COPs as materials for more information about how to use this node.

This node’s parameters are similar to the Quick Surface Material. The main difference is that the texture map parameters from the Quick Surface Material’s Edit Material Properties LOP are instead inputs on this node. The behavior where texture map/COP inputs multiply with parameter values and primvars is a characteristic of the Quick Surface Material.

Note

For Houdini 22.0, many of this node’s defaults and assumptions are hardwired around the Quick Surface Material.

If you inspect the material in the Scene Graph Details pane, any connected inputs become op: references to the LOP node. When exported, the USD ROP writes these textures to disk.
