Karma Camera Falloff VOP node

Generate a smooth roll-off between surface normal and the camera ray.

This node is used to output a smooth roll-off between surface normal and the camera ray. It can be used for camera-based edge falloff effect in materials.

This node behaves very much like MtlX Facing Ratio. However it uses the surface normals and camera direction vectors from Karma. In addition to the Karma-specific behavior, this node outputs both the falloff scalar value, as well as a color, blended by the falloff.

Parameters

Bias

Push or pull the facing ratio towards 1 or 0.

Gain

Sharpen or soften the facing ratio.

Gamma

Apply a gamma curve to the output.

Invert

Invert the output signal.

Face Forward

Values are always facing towards Input 1. This is equivalent to the absolute value of the dot product of the two input vectors.

Base Color

The surface color of the geometry facing the camera.

Edge Color

The surface color of the geometry as it angles away from the camera.
