Overview

A light filter prim can be assigned to a light to modify the light rays sent by the light. See Karma light filters for more information.

This filter uses simple geometric blocker shapes to remove or reduce light contribution in parts of the beam. You can use it to art direct cutoffs and shadowing with spherical, capsule, or box-shaped blockers.

Tip

You can find more information on how to apply light filters in general on the Karma light filters support page.

Parameters

Intensity

Scales the intensity of the light source.

Multiplies the resulting light by this color.

Invert Blockers

Inverts the effect so the blocker shape defines the area where light is allowed through instead of the area that is blocked.

Shape

The blocker shape to use.

Sphere

Uses a spherical blocker volume.

Capsule

Uses a capsule-shaped blocker volume.

Box

Uses a box-shaped blocker volume.

Radius

The radius of the spherical or capsule blocker.

Width

The width of the box blocker.

Height

The height of the box or capsule blocker.

Depth

Rounded Corner

Rounds the corners of the box blocker. Higher values produce softer, more beveled box edges.

Falloff

Softens the blocker edge. Higher values create a broader transition between blocked and unblocked regions.
