Feather Surface geometry node

Converts feather primitives to polygon surfaces.

The Feather Surface operator is used to convert feather primitives to polygon surfaces. It takes feather primitives as input and generates polygonal representations of the feathers.

Parameters

General

Group

The group of feather primitives to be processed.

Create Normalized UV

Specifies whether to create normalized UV coordinates for the generated surfaces.

Normalized UV Attribute

The attribute name to store the normalized UV coordinates.

Surface

Shaft Output

Specifies how the shaft of the feathers should be represented.

None

The shaft will not be included in the output.

Curve

The shaft will be represented as a curve.

Surface

The shaft will be represented as a surface.

Shaft Width

The width of the shaft in the surface representation.

Shaft Width Ramp

Specifies a ramp parameter to control the shaft width along its length.

Multiply Shaft Width by First Barb Length

Specifies whether to multiply the shaft width by the length of the first barb.

Maximum Width Segments

The maximum number of segments allowed for the width of the shaft.

Reduce Barb Segments

Reduce the number of barb segments on narrow parts of each feather.

Reduce Amount

The overall amount of barb segment reduction.

Reduce Bias

Controls how barb width maps to barb segment reduction. Values above 1.0 cause more reduction for a given feather width. At 1.0 the relationship between relative width and segment count is roughly linear.

Output Groups

Create Barb Group(s)

Specifies whether to create groups for barbs.

Left Barbs Group

The name of the group to add left barbs to.

Right Barbs Group

The name of the group to add right barbs to.

Create Shaft Group

Specifies whether to create a group for the shaft.

Shaft Group

The name of the group to add the shaft to.

Attribute and Group Copy

Primitive Attributes

Primitive attributes to copy from the feather primitives to the generated surfaces.

Primitive Groups

Primitive groups to copy from the feather primitives to the generated surfaces.

Point Attributes

Point attributes to copy from the feather primitives to the generated surfaces. Any regular (non-barb) attributes will be copied to all the points of a barb growing from that point.

Point Groups

The point groups to copy from the feather primitives to the generated surfaces. Group membership will be copied to all the points of a barb growing from each point.

Barb Attributes

Barb attributes to transfer to the surface points.
