Houdini 22.0 Nodes Geometry nodes

Implicit Surface geometry node

Creates a basic implicit surface shape.

Since 22.0

Creates a single primitive implicit surface shape: a box, sphere, torus, tube, or plane. Implicit surfaces are lightweight analytical representations with no voxel grid overhead, infinite resolution, and exact primitive shapes.

For more information, see Implicit surfaces: workflow and Implicit surfaces: technical.

Parameters

Transform

Translate

Position of the center of the shape.

Rotate

Rotation about the center of the shape.

Shape Settings

Shape

Type of shape to create.

Uniform Scale

Uniform scale applied to the selected shape parameters.

Shape Parameters

Box Size

Size of the box along its local X, Y, and Z axes.

Roundness

Radius used to round the box edges. A value of 0 creates a sharp box.

Radius

Radius of the sphere along the local X, Y, and Z axes. Equal values create a sphere. Unequal values create an ellipsoid.

Torus Radius

Major radius and tube radius of the torus.

Link Length

Stretches the torus into a chain link shape. A value of 0 creates a regular torus.

Length

Length of the tube along its local axis.

Radius

Radii at the two ends of the tube. Matching values create a straight tube; different values create a tapered tube.

Radius Scale

Uniform scale applied to the tube radii.

Round Caps

Rounds the tube ends.
