Labs Boxcutter 1.0 geometry node

Performs interactive boolean cuts in the viewport for hard-surface modeling.

This is an interactive viewport tool designed to streamline boolean workflows for hard-surface geometry. It allows you to draw cutting shapes directly in the viewport and apply boolean operations in an intuitive, iterative manner.

Cuts are created interactively and stored as editable operations, enabling fast experimentation and non-destructive refinement.

Tip

Connect the geometry to be cut to the first input. Select the node and press Enter in the viewport to activate the tool.

Tip

+ drag draws a planar cutting shape. ⌃ Ctrl + drag while holding , adds depth to the cutting shape. Optionally make any adjustments using the handles. Press A to confirm and apply the cut.

Parameters

Cutout Settings

Settings applied to the current or next interactive cut.

Drawing Mode

The projection method used to generate the cutting shape.

World Aligned

Aligns the cutting shape to the world XYZ axes.

Freehand

Aligns the cutting shape to the surface normal at the draw location.

Boolean Operation

The boolean operation applied to the cut.

Shape

Optional custom geometry used as the cutting shape. If not specified, a box is used.

Bevel Divisions

Number of bevel divisions applied along the intersection seam. This value can be adjusted using ⇧ Shift + .

Bevel Distance

Width of the bevel applied to the cut. This value can be adjusted using the mouse wheel.

Copies

Number of copies generated from the cutting shape.

Translate

Translation offset applied to each successive copy.

Pivot Translate

Pivot position used when transforming copies.

Rotate

Rotation offset applied to each successive copy.

Cutout Setting

Stores all previously created cuts.

Make Live

Reactivates the selected cut for interactive editing. The cut is moved to the end of the stack when made live.
