Labs Split Primitives by Normal 1.0 geometry node

Splits primitives into separate outputs based on their primitive normals.

The Labs Split Primitives by Normal SOP evaluates the primitive attribute N and isolates primitives whose normals fall within a specified angular range around a given axis and direction.

This is useful for hard-surface modeling, scattering workflows, selective processing, or isolating regions of geometry based on surface orientation.

Parameters

Axis

The axis used to evaluate the orientation of primitive normals.

Direction

The direction along the specified axis that primitive normals must face to be included in the selection.

Spread Angle

Primitives whose normals fall within this angle range are selected.

Invert Selection

Inverts the selection produced by the normal test.
